Mosley's Men in Black
by John Millican

Mosley's Men in BlackThis book is the definitive study of the uniforms, flags and insignia of Oswald Mosley's pre-war 'British Union of Fascists' and post-war 'Union Movement'.

Covering the years 1932 - 1966, it takes an in-depth look at such things as the famous Blackshirt uniform; and the Movement's highly developed command structure and unique rank insignia. The book also investigates less well-known aspects of the B.U.F. including the Greyshirt Youth and Cadet Movements; and the 'Fascist Union of British Workers', all of whom had their own distinctive uniforms.

Many years of research and the assistance of leading collectors in this field have allowed the author to give a complete coverage of this fascinating subject for the first time - making it an essential handbook for both historians and collectors of militaria.

The book is 136 pages and has over 200 photographs and illustrations many in colour. It has a deluxe cover. Actual book size is A5 (81/2" x 61/2")

MY LIFE - The autobiography of Sir Oswald Mosley

Oswald Mosley has been described as the greatest orator of the twentieth century. But his ability to express his ideas in a moving way were not confined to the spoken word. In this autobiography written towards the end of his life, Mosley demonstrates his considerable ability as a powerful writer as he describes his ideas and his life's journey.

It was a long journey along dark and dangerous paths but driven by his belief that courage and intellect would lead to the ultimate triumph of the 'revolt against destiny' he never faltered. His life story begins with his early days as an airman in the First World War; his attempt as a British Member of Parliament to persuade the government to act decisively against hunger and poverty in the Great Depression; his development of the British fascist ideal through British Union; his campaign for peace with honour and people and Empire intact; his imprisonment without charge or trial in the Second World War; and his emergence as the first political thinker to advocate the Union of Europe.

Finally, Mosley describes his philosophy of the Evolution to Higher Forms, which he considered his greatest contribution to human thought: a doctrine that gives positive answers to the eternal question of life's meaning.

Blackshirts-on-Sea
by J.A.Booker

Blackshirts-on-SeaThe chance discovery of a 60-year old photograph album was the inspiration behind 'Blackshirts-on-Sea': a fascinating pictorial record of a long-forgotten aspect of twentieth-century British history. The album contained 'snap shots' taken at Summer Camps held in West Sussex during the 1930s.

But these were holiday makers with a difference. The happy campers were all British Blackshirts: followers of the Mosley brand of fascism that stalked the political arena during that turbulent decade. Surprisingly, there appears to have been no shortage of adherents of that 'ultimate creed of political incorrectness' at the Blackshirt Summer Camps. Up to 1,400 could be found under canvas at any one time enjoying the pleasures of sun, sea, sand and Sussex.

As the author rightly observes, perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the photographs is how completely normal most of these Hi-De-Hi Blackshirt campers look. And yet, almost 1000 of them were considered dangerous enough to be taken into custody when the Second World War began a few years later.

Whether the reader's interest is British social history, local Sussex history or just casual curiosity, 'Blackshirts-on-Sea' is compulsive reading for everyone with a fascination for pre-Burger twentieth-century Britain. 131-pages, 225-photographs:

Revolution by Reason
by Michael Quill

This book examines the ideas of the late Sir Oswald Mosley: British politician and philosopher who became the youngest Member of Parliament and the only Minister ever to resign from office over the question of unemployment. Mosley spent a lifetime advocating systems based on enterprise, initiative and incentive as the best way to create wealth. But he always stressed the necessity for social controls to ensure the bounds of fairness were not breached, and he opposed large-scale international trade. This latter, he believed, led always to mass unemployment in the West as financiers switched investment to cheap-labor Third World countries in order to undercut the markets of advanced nations.

For six decades Mosley argued for alternative policies. British Cabinet Minister Richard Crossman wrote: 'Mosley was spurned by Whitehall, Fleet Street . . . and Westminster simply and solely because he was right.'

This book of Mosley's essays contains ideas that challenge the accepted wisdom of contemporary economic thought and form the basis of new systems for the future.
